After the Navy in 1961, I started college at Omaha University and went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company(NWB) in Omaha. I shortly became a programmer/analyst, transferred to Minnesota in 1968 as a second level manager in the Accounting Department. Two years later I transferred back to Omaha with NWB and as a manager, I help develop the customer service order computer system. I spent some time in Des Moines, Iowa again with NWB then back to Omaha. In 1980, I transferred to AT&T and moved to New Jersey where, as a Director, I did strategic planning for the break up of the Bell System. In 1982, I was placed in charge of developing the customer support and billing system for the United States. I moved to the Dallas, Texas area where I had a large staff of programmers and system analysts. In 1985, I transferred to the Denver,Colorado area where I ran a data center for AT&T. In 1986, I left the Bell System and became the regional manager for General Electric Consulting Service where I had responsibility for the business operations of the Denver, Kansas City and New Mexico offices. Two years later, US West hired me back as a Director in charge of developing the Materials Management System for the company. For seven years, I held various management positions. I furthered my education by completing my MBA degree from Denver University. As an adjunct professor, I taught classes at Regis University part time for six years. I then went to work for a software consulting company in Denver first as a consultant and later as a sales manager. I also worked part time as a financial advisor for Travelers. Finally, I retired in an age restricted community on a golf course in Aurora, Co. where my wife and I play golf, ski and enjoy our 11 grandkids.
In 20014, we made what is likely our final move to Peoria, Arizona where we are looking for a permanent place to live down here in one of five retirement communities--warm and good for golfing..
